The world champion Jonathan Albon will participate in Transvulcania

The recent winner of the CCC in Chamonix did not take part in the race of La Palma since the 2019 edition

The British Jonathan Albon, currently considered one of the best runners on the planet, returns to the Isla Bonita where he was already in the 2019 edition of Transvulcania. That was his first participation, in which he harvested a fourth place and was proclaimed weeks later Trail World Champion in the World Cup held in Abutres, Portugal.

Albon, an experienced obstacle racer who has also been OCR World Champion and Spartan Race World Champion, is currently at the top of the world rankings. The runner will return to Transvulcania after completing a successful last season, winning renowned races such as the Festival Des Templiers or the CCC, both in France, as well as third place in the Spanish Zegama-Aizkorri marathon and fifth place in the competitive Innsbruck-Stubai World Championships, in the short distance category.

The president of the Cabildo de La Palma, Sergio Rodríguez, emphasizes that the effort to regain the confidence of the citizens of La Palma in this race is also being reinforced by the response offered by world-class runners, who once again see in the race the challenge that has always attracted them.
This participative response, emphasizes Sergio Rodríguez, is also being verified in the popular participation, which is responding with a good rhythm to the registration process.

The race encourages trail lovers to register in any of its competitive modalities, which are already on their way to hang the sign of full in the very short term in most of its modalities, being already the Ultramarathon, the Marathon and the Half Marathon around 82% of the quota covered, and about to be completed and the Vertical Kilometer, the shortest modality, at 32%.
