We created the official anthem for Transvulcania

The island’s president, Sergio Rodríguez, emphasized that this is “a work born from within, from the island itself, which captures its essence and shares it with the world.”

The La Palma Island Council remains committed to bringing the Transvulcania back to the people of La Palma. On this occasion, it is unveiling what will be the official anthem of the island’s trail race—a piece performed entirely by the La Palma School of Music, featuring its faculty, students, and choir, as part of an artistic and educational project.

During the event, Sergio Rodríguez, president of the La Palma Island Council, highlighted the significance of this initiative. “This is a collaborative project deeply rooted in the local community, created by local talent from La Palma with the aim of capturing the essence of one of the most iconic international sporting events,” he added.

He also emphasized that “it is a work born from within, from the island itself, which captures its essence and shares it with the world.”

Miriam Perestelo, CEO of the Society for the Promotion and Economic and Social Development of La Palma (SODEPAL), emphasized the importance of the project’s collaborative nature and its cultural dimension, noting that this initiative leverages the international reach of the Transvulcania race to highlight the island’s artistic and educational talent.

The piece, created in a bilingual format (Spanish and English), aims to capture the essence of the sporting event, blending identity, sports, and cultural expression in a production featuring students, faculty, the adult choir, and soloists from the Escuela Insular de Música de La Palma, alongside other local artists and the production company KIKAZARU Producciones.

The mayor of Fuencaliente, Gregorio Alonso, was also present at the event, where he highlighted the town’s connection to the history of the Transvulcania. He also emphasized the race’s importance for the development and revitalization of the region and its economy, as well as its status as one of the trail running events that stands out on the sporting calendar year after year.
