The SPAR La Palma supermarket chain is renewing its support as the main sponsor of the Kids-Junior category, while also maintaining its overall involvement in the event.<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n

The organizers of Transvulcania adidas have opened registration for the Transvulcania Kids-Junior SPAR La Palma 2026, an event aimed at the younger generation that is gaining prominence each year within the official program. The race will take place on Friday, May 8, 2026, starting at 4:30 p.m., reinforcing its role as a festive and participatory kickoff to the island\u2019s big trail running weekend. <\/p>\n

The area around the El Pilar Mountain Hut will once again host this event\u2014a symbolic setting that brings together sports, nature, and learning, and which has established itself as a gateway for many young people who have their first competitive experience here.<\/p>\n

Registration is now open and free of charge on the official website, www.transvulcania.com. The organizers will offer a limited number of spots and divide participants into different age categories, aimed at young people born in 2009 or later, ensuring safe and age-appropriate courses. Their partnership includes providing products at the aid stations and supporting the overall operation of the event, helping to ensure that all race distances run smoothly. <\/p>\n

In addition to its sponsorship of the Kids-Junior category, SPAR La Palma will continue to support the other distances of the Transvulcania, providing products for the various aid stations, just as it has done in previous years. The supermarket chain, which has locations in every municipality on the island, stands out for its commitment to the runners, providing a wide variety of products and offering catering services for the organization\u2019s members as well as logistical support for the event. <\/p>\n

The chain is also strengthening its ties to the event through initiatives aimed at the local community, including exclusive perks for runners via its SPARLink app, designed to make it easier to participate and enhance the pre-race experience. In addition, during Transvulcania adidas week, SPAR La Palma will launch a special promotion at its stores across the island, integrating the event into residents\u2019 daily lives and reinforcing its commitment to sports and the island\u2019s environment. <\/p>\n

Sergio Rodr\u00edguez, president of the La Palma Island Council, highlighted the importance of this race within the overall event and SPAR\u2019s commitment to promoting trail running among children. \u201cIt is essential to have the support of organizations like SPAR La Palma in our efforts to make the adidas Transvulcania accessible to families and to spark an interest in sports from an early age, while promoting core values such as hard work, teamwork, and respect for the environment.\u201d <\/p>\n

Sports Minister Yurgen Hern\u00e1ndez highlighted the importance of the local business community in establishing the event. \u201cThe Transvulcania Kids-Junior SPAR La Palma is not a side event; it is a fundamental part of the event.\u201d \u201cIt represents the future of the race and a key tool for fostering a culture of sports from an early age, connecting families with Transvulcania and the region. The boys and girls currently participating in the race will be the future of trail running on the island, strengthening a sport that has grown exponentially in recent years and is establishing itself as one of the categories with the most licensed participants island-wide,\u201d he adds. <\/p>\n

In addition, during Transvulcania adidas week, SPAR La Palma will launch a special promotion at its stores across the island, integrating the event into residents\u2019 daily lives and reinforcing its commitment to sports and the island community.<\/p>\n

The adidas Transvulcania is organized by the Island Council of La Palma through the public company SODEPAL, with the support of the Government of the Canary Islands, through the Department of Tourism and Promotur with its brand \u201cIslas Canarias Latitud de Vida,\u201d as well as the companies adidas, Hotel H10 Taburiente Playa, Hotel La Palma Princess, Hotel Meli\u00e1 La Palma, Fred.
